IELTS Classes Overview

An International Standardised test of English language competency for non-native English speakers is the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). It is the most widely used assessment system in the world for international immigration and higher education. IELTS is used by governments in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and other nations to process applications. IELTS is possessed by an international educational Organisation called IDP ("International Development Program") which offers student assignments abroad. IELTS evaluates a test-competency taker in four areas of the English language: speaking, reading, writing, and Listening respectively. There is a computer-based IELTS and paper-based IELTS. One has additional exam dates to choose from and receives results from the computer-based IELTS in 3-5 days. Those who choose to take the IELTS on paper will use HB pencils or pens for the Reading, Writing, and Listening parts. While an experienced IELTS examiner conducts the Speaking test in person. IELTS comes in two flavours: Academic and General Training. Both exams evaluate your proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and listening in English.
