How to Prepare for TOEFL Exam
Listening
You'll hear two or three different sets of listening material. Either one discussion plus two lectures (extended set) or one conversation and one lecture make up each set (short set). After that, you will be asked questions about the facts you just heard. Your score will increase as you provide more accurate answers.
Speaking
You will see or hear prompts during the speaking test, and you will then record your responses on the computer. The TOEFL speaking tasks are evaluated by an examiner outside of your testing facility. The speaking test lasts 17 minutes on the iBT and 13 minutes on Essentials.
Reading
How well you can read and comprehend items utilized in an academic setting is evaluated on the TOEFL iBT Reading part. There are three or four reading portions totaling about 700 words each, and each passage has ten questions. Answering all of the section's questions will take you between 54 and 72.
Writing
The TOEFL writing section tests your command of English syntax and vocabulary as well as your ability to construct an organized essay with convincing arguments. The TOEFL iBT test's writing element is found in the penultimate session, where candidates have 50 minutes to complete two tasks.
